Getting to Wroclaw


1. Plane

Wroclaw has an international airport, just a short trip away from the city center. There are direct flights coming in from London, Munich, Dublin, Copenhagen, Paris, and many other large European cities. Go here ✈️ to see if your city doesn’t have a direct flight to Wroclaw.

2. Train

Apart from Wroclaw’s Central Station being a beautiful building, it connects Wroclaw to many European metropolises, for example Berlin, London, and Stuttgart. Check out 🚂 for ticket information. All aboard!

3. Bus

There are many different bus routes, which end at the Wroclaw Main Bus Station, just look at 🚌! And don’t forget, you can always take the Skeptibus from Prague.

4. Car

Yes, arriving by car is a good choice, if you live in one of Poland’s neighboring countries, or even a country over. For example, it’s only four hours by car from Berlin! There are four international highways meeting in Wroclaw, one from the West (Dresden, Berlin), one from the East (Krakow, Kiev), another from the South (Prague, Vienna), and lastly the one from the North (Warsaw, Minsk).


Please note that if you plan to arrive by zeppelin, hot air balloon, or jetpack, contact the congress organizers beforehand, so they can set up a landing space for you.

Getting to the venue

From the airport?
Take the bus number 106 (destination: Dworcowa). Get off at the last bus stop (Dworzec Główny). Bus 106 leaves every 20 minutes. The whole travel will take approximately 30 minutes. At night, take bus 206.

If you travel by train, go to the nearest tram-bus stop and follow the instruction below (how to get form main railway station)

From the main railway station?
After exiting the main railway station turn left and head to tram-bus stop. The tram-bus on Peronowa street.

Get in tram number 8 (destination: Zawalna) or number 9 (destination Sępolno). Perpendicularly (on Piłsudzkiego street) there is another tram stop were you can catch the tram number 11 (destination: Kromera). All three trams take the same route.

You have to get out at Hala Targowa stop (travel takes approx. 12 minutes).   

Cross the street and walk along Nankiera street. On first intersection turn right in to Szewska street. Next turn left on Uniwersytecki square. Central University building is on your right, behind the church.   

From main bus station?
After leaving the main bus station cross to the other side of Sucha street. Then go into the railway station. Pass thru the main railway station and use instructions From the main railway station?

From highway?
The route is 11 km / 6,8 miles.
On highway take Exit “Wrocław droga nr 5”. Drive on road 5/E261 for about 6 km/ 3,7 miles.

On the Powstańców Śląskich roundabout use fourth Exit (Zaporoska street). After 700 meters/ 0,4 miles, at the next roundabout, use the exit straight across.

After passing train tracks, turn right on intersection into Grzybowska street. Next, turn right on Piłsudzkiego street.

Continue onto Podwale street. At the intersection turn right into Ruska street and at the next intersection, turn left in to Białoskórnicza street.   

Continue your route in Nowy Świat street. When you pass the bridge, turn into Więzienna street.

Central University building is on your right.

If you travel form Zgorzelec
Use Exit A8 toward Warsaw and next head toward the airport.

On the roundabout use first exit – turn right in to Graniczna street. On second roundabout use second exit – turn left in to Strzegomska street.
After 2,5 km/1,5 miles stay left at the forking and continue onto Strzegomska street.

At the intersection, near Statoil gas station, turn left into Strzegomski square and next turn right in to Legnicka street. Drive on Ruska street and at the next intersection turn left into Białoskórniczza street.

Continue your route in Nowy Świat street. When you pass the bridge, turn into Więzienna street.

Central University building is on your right.

You can buy tickets in ticket dispensers at bus or tram stops, or in kiosks. There are ticket dispensers in trams and buses as well. You can pay using a debit card. (VISA or Mastercard).

One-way ticket costs 3 zł and half fare 1,50 (students included)

You can also buy time tickets that are valid for all trams and buses.
